During these interviews, the trainees were interviewed to investigate the trainees’ perception regarding the degree of training transfer to their work, the knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired at the training, the factors that affected the transfer of training, and the personal characteristics of the trainees and how these affected the transfer. Four major content areas were addressed in each interview: (1) trainees’ views regarding any benefits they perceived they had gained as a result of attending the training; (2) evidence of actually utilizing the training in practice; (3) any barriers to implementing the training; and (4) factors which assisted with either learning or training transfer. Interviews lasted approximately one hour, were undertaken at the workplace, and taped with the permission of the trainees.
