Taco Bell High School: A Short Story
I’m parked in the Taco Bell parking lot. I’m about to make a greatly significant decision. My girlfriend is inside, and it’s just around the time for her lunch break. I took the key out of my ignition and walked in, preparing for the trouble I was about to get myself into. I walked just outside of the car and admired it’s redesign for a moment. What is a conflict theory and how does it apply to medical sociology? The conflict theory is built on the idea of capitalism and power-struggle among the classes. Therefore, in capitalistic societies the elites control the norms and values and force those standards upon less privileged. These social processes create struggles over life-essential resources among various groups in the society and lead to external conflict among the people. Capitalism and profits are the essences of the conflict theory. Therefore, since we live in a Capitalistic economy, people are treated as mere means for the higher attainments of profits. Based on this premise, capitalism works to dehumanize workers and alienate them from the process, product, self, and…

It took years to think of my inventive costume idea. But, finally it came to me: a Chipotle burrito. Garnished with beans, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, I spun in circles as my mom wrapped me tightly in tin foil. I became the perfect incarnation of everyone’s favorite Mexican meal. Little did I know, in a mere two hours my confidence would amount to nothing and I would be seemingly friendless. Even though this moment seemed humiliating, now it acts as a reminder that I should never feel ashamed of my individuality.…

I wake up in the morning feeling great. My cheese is perfect and I eat a healthy breakfast containing a piece of bread and a slice of my newly made fresh lamb cheese. I pack my rv, feed my pet, fill-up with gas and head out on the open road. My vehicle’s engine is purring almost like a kitten and I’m pleased to read a highway sign that sets the speed limit to 80 mph for the next 290 miles. I plan that I can get to the end of texas and be on my way in New Mexico in 10 h 48 min (733.9 mi). About halfway through my journey I decide to stop for lunch. According to a street sign i'm on S broadway St, tx and I find a lovely restaurant called George’s where I buy a gyro sandwich for $5…
