Back in the olden days, women had no say, no rights, Hell, not even what they worked so hard to achieve they got to keep, they were slaves and only time would change this. Petruchio did not give a single thought about Katherine in the play, all he wanted was a tamed wife, nothing else because she is a slave. Nowadays women are perfect, they are the backbone of our race, and they are great and are a match to men. Petruchio actually cares about Katherine once he realizes how great she is in the movie and what she is capable of. The play is about the taming of a Shrew whom is named Katherine. She is a rude and nasty person as everyone thinks that of her. A man who is named Petruchio only wants Katherine for her money. The movie is about the same people but told in a different way. Petruchio is payed by Grumio to go after Katherine so then Grumio could go out with Bianca. Petruchio actually ends up caring for her and eventually stops taking Grumio’s money. The characters in the movie and the play are Lucentio, Bianca, Katherine, Tranio, Petruchio, Grumio, and Baptista.
The women back then did everything their husbands would tell them to do no matter what the wife wanted to do. Now in the present time
Even if they worked hard and they were then forced to marry someone they didn’t want to. They still had to give their money to that person even if the one they were marrying hadn’t had a job or has any money for himself. “Dad this isn’t fair, I don’t want to marry him!” In Taming of the Shrew Petruchio gets all of Katherine’s money right when they are married. That is basically the only reason he went for her, because she had money and lots of it. In 10 things I hate about you Katherine gets to keep everything she owns and holds dear and Petruchio actually gives Katherine a guitar for her to keep for her own
