Tanim Ansary's Missions

What would life be like without taking on missions to achieve our goals? Rudyard Kipling’s short story “Rikki-tikki-tavi” demonstrates just how far people can go to protect their loved ones. The Other Side of the Sky by Farah Ahmedi and Tanim Ansary shows them undertaking a difficult mission to cross the border into Pakistan. New Directions by Maya Angelou displays undertaking a mission by trying to find a successful path for yourself. There are several reasons that motivate people to undertake missions in life, such as saving family members when they are in danger, trying to cross the border and find a new life, and wanting to find a new path for themselves.

He was checking out a goat path that supposedly went over the mountains several miles northeast of the border station” (Farah Ahmedi and Tanim Ansary 8). Due to being unsuccessful in crossing the border even with their determination and struggle, the family’s offer to help her and her mother assisted and helped them greatly with their mission of crossing the border to find a new life.
