Understanding the principles and practices of assessment – Unit (CU3049)
1. Your understanding of the principles and practices of assessment
1.1 The function of assessment in learning and development is to measure the learners’ knowledge and to make sure that the learning has taken place. Students need to have an initial assessment so that we can find out what level they are at in learning and to find out if they need any extra help or support.
