Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. By

the age of five, Taylor was already creating songs in her journal. By age sixteen, she released her first album. The album hit and her popularity skyrocketed. She has won countless awards, including several Grammy Awards. She is considered a contemporary country artist.

Taylor Swift was born in Pennsylvania. She grew up on a farm where her family

raised Christmas trees. Swift followed her grandmotherʼs footsteps as a singer. Her grandmother was a professional opera singer. Other influences on Taylorʼs musical career were LeAnn Rimes Tim McGraw. Early on, Taylor performed at various events including fair and singing contest. By age ten, she sang the national anthem at a
Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. She began to write her own songs when she was only eleven years old. When she turned twelve, she began to learn how to play the guitar. !

In order to push her musical career to the next level, Swift and her family moved

to Hendersonville, Tennessee. They did this in an attempt to get closer to Nashville, the country music capital. She wrote more songs and sought to land a contract with a record label. One night she had a superstar performance at The Bluebird Café in
Nashville. Because of her great performance, she was given a contract with Scott
Borchettaʼs Big Machine Records.

Her first single was Tim McGraw, which was released in 2006. The song

eventually became a top ten hit on the country music charts. She also released her first album that year in October. It eventually sold more than 2.5 million copies. She released

more popular singles soon after and some were number one on the country music charts. On top of her success on the music charts, Taylor was received many praise awards for her efforts and successes. She won the Horizon Award from the Country
