1.1 Communication is very important in our relationship with others because we transmit our knowledge, professionalism, feeling and expectation. In school communication is essential because it links staff, parents and children. Communication with children or young person’s generates knowledge, trust and sense of belonging that will lead to better achievements. A good communicator is also a good listener that value other people’s opinion, kind and patience and not judgemental. Has a positive attitude and show enthusiasm.
1.2 Every child is different and is an individual with their own experience and abilities. To build a relationship with children or young person we need to remember some key point:
• Respect every student for their individuality
• Provide a friendly environment, encouraging cooperation and sharing
• Be sure that the welfare and wellbeing of the pupils is cared
• Be receptive and sympathetic when needed
• Stimulate and empower the student trough a challenging learning environment
• Value and promote the knowledge of different cultures and faith
• Always value the pupil’s abilities and their needs.
1.3 Living in a multicultural society does affect also the way of communication and how to establish a relationship between the teacher and the learners. While the learner’s individuality is treasured, particular attention is given to the student’s background and personal situation. Children in the same class could have different needs dictated by their parent’s education or professions. A teacher would have the ability to address parents considering their background. A Learning Plan will be prepared to give the student the opportunity to achieve based on their skills. If a student that has English as a second language help will be given to improve his literacy skill, same will be done on other area of the curriculum to offer the child or young
