In “Teaching Boys and Girls Separately,” Paul Reva says about the principal of an American elementary school has separated the boys and girls into different classroom because of their behavior. After this strategy students’ learning became more effective. So he thinks that schools should separate boys and girls because they need different methods and experiences to learn, besides girls won’t feel mistreated during class. Indeed, boys and girls should attend school separately so that their grades improve and teachers can control the students’ behavior better.

Both genders’ conduct is often different when it's time to study. Girls naturally tend to talk a lot during classes, and boys usually tend to be much more active and troubled, so they start to fight or talk to each other while the teacher is talking. Therefore, the students don’t pay attention to the classroom rules, classes are completely disorganized, and also students could start to be aggressive and rebels in class or even at home. Separating boys and girls make teachers to have their classes completely organized, and their students concentrated listening to them. For example, Ms. Thompson is a teacher, she have been working for fifteen years at Marlborough school, in California, she approves the separate education for boys and girls, despite the fact that work with girls can be very tiring. Her students are obedient and her classes are very tidy, girls always help to keep the class this way. According to her, students just want attention and they want to be heard all the time, so she tries to use games that make them feel appreciated. Parents feel some way this methods motivates their girls to be well behaved so that applications for the school are full this

    Single sex classrooms create opportunities that do not really exist in a coed classroom for students. Teachers can create learning strategies in all girl classrooms, and in all boy classrooms, which do not work as well in coed classrooms. Many public schools are beginning to adopt the single sex classroom ideas and seeing dramatic improvement with grades and test scores. The strongest proof yet, that separating boys and girls works, is the drastic improvement in grades for both sexes. But to simply place girls in a classroom and boys in another classroom is not going to work. Teachers should have special training for practical gender-specific classroom strategies and learn the best practices for these gender-separate classrooms. In the book “Gender and Education” the authors Barbara Banks, Sara Delamont, and Catherine Marshall specifically state: “Teacher interactions with students are at the heart of the hidden curriculum and are important means by which informal lessons about gender are transmitted in schools” (Banks571). Single sex classrooms simply create more opportunities and a better learning environment for our children that coed classrooms do not create.
