Technological Breakthroughs During The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was an era of technological breakthroughs that impacted the U.S. in several different ways. A lot of new things were happening during the Industrial Revolution, people were inventing many new things, there was a ton of immigration, and the economy was booming. Despite the seeming greatness of the Industrial Revolution, it was only positive in the long term, and negative in the short term.

There are many reasons why the Industrial Revolution was a good thing, One reason was the technological advancements. There was an rapid increase in the development of technology which resulted in the rise of the number of factories being built. The political machines seemed good, but they would basically force people to be on their side, and when people stopped getting money from political machines, they would fall back down because they didn’t have enough revenue, they couldn’t live independently, or anything else that may have brought them down. Although it seemed great that many new cultures and ethnicities were coming to America, it only positively affects in a long term. When you think of how it affected America at the time that it was happening, it was actually kind of bad. The influx of people lead to overpopulation. Big businesses could give small wages to the new immigrants because they didn’t have as much of voice or so they thought, and all they really wanted to do was to be able to have the basic necessities. With people from many new places, a lot of new diseases came, such as smallpox, scarlet fever, and diphtheria. The housing facilities were so cramped that the diseases spread and it became very dangerous to live anywhere in a city unless you were
