We are venturing again to Los Angeles this week where 1987 graduate, Corey Jackson, works as a film and television composer. After a movie is made, Corey meets with the director of the film to “spot” the film. This is the process of deciding where music should go in the film and what emotions the music should portray. After the spot, Corey writes the music for one scene at a time. Each composition is sent to the director for approval. Corey says that the director may like it the first time or may send it back with notes and suggestions for him to try again. “Once that is completed I, with the help of my team, will record, mix and deliver the music to the dubbing stage for final mix,” says Jackson. He also describes being on the set of a movie as not glamorous, contrary to what some may think. On a constant deadline, he says working is hard, time consuming, and challenging, but working with like minded people who all have the same ultimate goal and work ethic makes it easier.…
The variety of films mentioned aims to provide an extensive inquiry into both modern and traditional films. To substantiate this inquiry, an article by Paste Magazine has been supplemented, containing some of the most well-known and endorsed films of the 21st century. The logic behind including an article of this nature is to examine mainstream/dominant culture as it communicates the disposition and context of…
The feeling of connectedness to the world will bring happiness on any journey. In the movie “The Way” Tom gains meaningful companions on his pilgrimage journey. The unity of Tom, Joost, Sarah, and Jack taught me the importance of companionship and building relationships that are powerful enough to get through any hardship.…
I will be writing about 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This movie is about a girl who gets into an accident that results in brain damage. Then she experiences a form of amnesia called “Goldfield’s Syndrome” according to the movie. Basically, Goldfields syndrome doesn’t allow Drew to form new memories, but doesn’t erase what she knew before the accident. She can remember up to one day, then she relives the next day as if it was the first day after the accident, over and over again. The movie has its strengths and weaknesses in accurately portraying the memory. For the most part, I believe the movie did a good job portraying it.…

This paper will focus on interpersonal relationships; more specifically, romantic partners and the development of a relationship in a scene from the movie Up. Relationship development has two spectrums of stages: coming together and coming apart. This paper will focus on the stages taking place in the coming together phase, the relational norms and outcomes, speed of stage advancement, character role in each stage and how they could improve on their interpersonal relationship.…
We all have our own favourites, such as favourite song, favourite singer, favourite book. We all have a favourite movie, too. Some people like to watch comedy, thriller, action, or drama film. I personally like to watch fantasy film. There are awesome special effects and supernatural events which seem exciting. Particularly, I really enjoy watching the teenage vampire movie…

Young people and teens today strive to live by this code of living a full and fun life. The terms fun and full both have a different meaning nowadays. Full and fun today means conforming to the wrong and making it okay to do wrong things; acting out these wrong doings anyway and anytime people can. Even the importance of being welcomed and popular in school just creates a chaotic and disruptive generation. I suppose it all comes down to being negatively peer pressured; just as portrayed in Project X. Besides being entertaining, this movie has a very bad influence on young people.…
The impact of movies on teens has been well studied, and although there is still much more research to be done, some things are already clear. While watching movies on the big screen can be entertaining for a teen, these movies can also have long-lasting effects on the way he or she views the world. The problem begins to occur when you start viewing movies as a guideline for how to live your life or start buying into the unrealistic portrayals of attractiveness, violent behavior and drug use often seen in popular films.…

I had wanted to carry out my research interview for a long time and looked forward to finding out why my local cinema had survived and apparently been successful despite a huge number of changes in its social and economic environment. I have lived in my present village location for thirty years now, raising my family. Over this time I must have taken my son and daughter to this cinema many times, as I had been taken myself when a child. There we had seen a huge range of material over that period, from Disney products onwards. Even more recently, when my son and daughter had come back from university for the weekend, we had gone to see the latest James Bond film. I had been struck then by how well presented the cinema building still was but also by how young the audience members now were. The experience reminded me that I hadn’t been for a while. To tell the truth, most of the films on now don’t really appeal to me. They are heavily focused on the youth market, contain lots of noisy CGI special effects and of course they don’t feature much good plot, dialogue or character.…
Knowing that this book was largely based on the way you behaved, and the way you wanted to behave, in high school means a lot to teenagers like me. All new forms of entertainment, whether it be modern literature, music, film or television, seems to be aimed towards the teenagers lacking confidence, with low self esteem, scared to reach their goals. This is a novel for the students who watch the Neanderthals of high school and just think 'Gross, teenagers. I'm so glad I never was one.' It's a book for those of us who know what we want, know how to get it, and just couldn't care less what anyone else has to say about it. So Chris Colfer, I commend you on writing the…
