Tell All The Truth But Tell It Slant Analysis
In the poem, “Tell all the Truth but tell it slant” by Emily Dickinson, she talks about telling the truth but tell it slant. In the story, “Like the Sun” by R.K. Narayan, Sekhar tells the truth but gets in trouble. Honest is not the best policy because you could lose your friends, you could hurt someone’s feelings, and you could ruin something.
One reason why honesty is not the best policy is because you could lose your friends. If your closest friend wanted to know how they looked that day and you blurted out your honest opinion on his or her outfit and it was not a nice opinion, that person most likely will not want to be your friend anymore. Some people take things to a drastic measure when something bad was said about them.

    Tell all the Truth but tell it slant is one of Dickinson’s poems. In this poem, she is telling us to tell the truth in a way that would not hurt someone. In line one, “Tell all the Truth but tell it slant-”. She tells us that we should tell the truth, but we should twisted it a little or tell half of the truth.
