Tension Leading Up To Bull's Eye
Crisis – What’s the moment of tension leading up to your bull’s eye? The moment of tension leading up to my bull’s eye is when I prove the standards of beauty that society set out to be wrong though portraying that my self worth is not defined by my outer appearance, but instead, it is my uniqueness that makes me beautiful. Throughout my poem, I want to use the repetition of the phase “ Dear Society”, and towards the end, I want to increase the use of of this phrase to add even more tension. I must ask you, what is true beauty?
Because I am a bit confused by your obscure definition.
When I was a little four years old, I used to find the world around me enticing and enchanting. I used to believe that beauty was entrenched in the simplest things,
The way the pretty pink flowers blossomed in the sunlight
The way the shiny stars painted the dark sky
And in the way, the birds swam through the dimmed blue sky. I would race the gleaming elliptical moon and float in the soft blanket of clouds. I used to find the universe around me beautiful, including everyone within it. I quickly learned that beauty’s in the eye of the beholder whose vision is clouded by prejudices and bias that you set out, end result: tunneled vision through a cataract.
