Tuong Nguyen Blood Of Death Tero was only 5 when he witnessed his parents being slaughtered right in front of his eyes. In shock, Tero ran far far away, his legs barely able to hold his weight. He hid in a dark stone alley, fading away from civilisation. Throughout every night he cried, sadness would fill the emptiness of his heart. He could barely handle the memories of that night. The day has come, Tero knew this would come. “By the order of the king of Atlantis, you shall come with me,” explained the guard. “And if I don’t,” Tero yelled back taking three steps away. At an instant, the guard had pinned Tero down on the ground. “Why are you fighting when you know you can not win?” The guard asked. “What does the king want with me?” “He wishes …show more content…

The secret is hidden within me Tero repeated in his head. Tero has been on his journey for over 2 weeks, he has been digging through his memories for days. Tero was confused, he had no idea of what he’s been doing. He had finally remembered that when he was younger, his dad would ban him Tuong Nguyen from entering the basement. Tero sprinted home quickly, although his legs were tired, his desire for revenge carried him back to his house. When he had finally reached home, he noticed that his house was no longer there. The scythe slowly pushes through the shield until, the shield shatters into 9 different pieces. The scythe gets caught in Tero’s skull, Tero falls down onto his knees and says “I’m sorry mum, dad but at least now I can join you.” As Thanatos pulls his scythe out of Tero’s split open skull, Tero falls down flat, blood slowly starts pouring out of the head of Tero. The blood starts to crawl and maneuver into the words: Thanatos, you will be punished. In shock Thanatos backs off, a massive bolt of lightning shoots down to the Earth, and strikes Thanatos. A red seal, made out of the blood of Tero, creates a large pentagram around Thanatos. Tero’s blood stained hand, grabs Thanatos and pulls him down deep under earth. In pain Thanatos yells “curse you

“Tayo could not pull the trigger…That was when Tayo started screaming because it wasn’t a Jap, it was Josiah.” (7) Before he began his healing process, Tayo was constantly afflicted with terrible flashbacks to the war mixed with visions of close friends and family members. These mind mirages influenced his ideas and decisions every day before he was able to untangle the truth of his past. With these thoughts, Tayo was unable to see how the white people were at fault for many of the problems. Betonie opened up Tayo’s mind to the possibility of a reality where Tayo was not involved in the terrible things that he believed he carried out during the war. Tayo, for too long after the war, blamed himself for the death of Josiah because he thought he killed him. Through the ceremonies, Tayo connected the cause of Josiah to his own departure to the war. Tayo indirectly killed Josiah by not being there, and Betonie helped him realize that. Chapter one, The Observers, in the Death of Woman Wang demonstrates the accuracy of the local historian; Feng K'o-ts'an, who compiled The Local History of T'an-ch'eng in 1673. The descriptive context of the Local History helps the reader to understand and literally penetrate into people's lives. The use of records of the earthquake of 1668, the White Lotus rising of 1622 and rebels rising vividly described by Feng the extent of suffering the people of T'an-ch'eng went through. Jonathan Spence stresses on how miserable the two-quarter of the seventeen-century were to the diminishing population of the county. The earthquake claimed the lives of nine thousand people, many others died in the White lotus rising, hunger, sickness and banditry. P'u Sung-ling's stories convey that after the loss of the wheat crops there were cases of cannibalism. On top of all of this came the slaughtering of the entire family lines by the bandits. The incredible records of women like Yao and Sun in the Local History present the reader the magnitude of savagery the bandits possessed. All of these factors led to the rise of suicides. The clarity of events Spence given to the reader is…
