Immigrants who moved to Texas from foreign nations seeked for cheap land, freedom, wealth and a better lifestyle.

Texas, a growing state, attracted many immigrants of different ethnic groups. All of them sought after the common factors that would have tempted anyone at that time. Also, many did not have much of a choice. Texas seemed like the ideal location
for them to settle. It had cheap land which was very much fertile. Many people got grants and acres of land and farmland. Also, there was more space for them to spread out and more place to settle.

Many different types of people came to settle in Texas, the groups consisted Anglo-Americans, Native Americans, Germans, Irish, French, Mexican-American, Italian, Czech, Asian, Polish, Norwegian, and African. Many people came because of the pull factors, but some had also been kicked out of their homeland or there was no space for them. Also, many people were slaves. In Texas they were able to start a new lifestyle, they received land and resources.

Although the immigrant groups very much benefitted by coming to Texas, Texas had also benefitted by gaining unique cultures and traditions. Furthermore, Texas continues to use and celebrate some of the food, celebrations, and customs introduced by the immigrants. The immigrants also helped in settling Texas, the cotton industry, and some even fought in wars to support Texas. There was cultural assimilation and diffusion all over the place.
