This section of a paragraph in “Lord of the Flies” is highly important to the reader because it shows numerous of significant components of the story. This quote of the story impacted me because I believed that Piggy was the most suited to become the leader since he is the genius of the group. Additionally, Ralph wouldn't have known the power of the conch if Piggy was not located near him. In addition, it was also very eye-catching what amount of power the shell could give to Ralph and also his appearance was able to support his path of being the leader. Then one person comes between that schedule to turn everything into chaos and madness. A man, who thinks is taking the easy way out, is put in the middle of the routine, arguing, screaming, changing rules, basically causing a small rebellion. He curses, gambles, fights, argues, is destructive and tries to talk his way through and out of everything. That man is named McMurphy, Randall Patrick McMurphy. Sent to an Oregon State mental ward to avoid 30 days of imprisonment on a work farm. Imagine a man like McMurphy and ask yourself how he would ever be considered a Christ-like character.…

In One flew over the cuckoo’s nest, Ken Kesey uses first person narration by a secondary character using a subjective tone. By using an unstable perspective of a schizophrenic Indian, Bromden, results in ambiguity leading the readers to make decisions on which parts of the plot are real and which are hallucinated. Sentence structure and machine imagery help emphasise the ambiguity of the novel by placing the reader through the mind of Bromden. Through using these techniques Kesey mystifies the plot which makes the reader to ponder over whether the plot is real or hallucinated.…

The same themes often come up in many works, not due to plagiarization, but because these themes are reflective of human nature. The novel, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, depicts the regression of innocent, little boys into primitive savages when tossed onto an island with no sense of civilization. As each boy slowly transforms into a savage, civilization tears away its facade, revealing the evil that was always there. Eventually, after a couple of deaths, a ship of soldiers find the stranded children in the middle of their hysteria. Themes of the story involves fear, civilization, power, innocence, and more. Lord of the Flies shares many themes with Breaking Bad, The Revenant, and No Country for Old Men.…

As Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung once said, “As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of a mere being.” In other words, man’s purpose in life is to help one another find the good in a world of malevolence. In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, it becomes apparent to the reader the contrast in shades between the good and the bad. Each person here on Earth has two parts of his or her being: light and dark. It is the side people choose which defines them. Take for example Ronald Reagan. He could have easily continued with his successful career as a movie star. But instead, he chose to move into the realm of politics, where greed and corruption rule. His mission? To be the voice for those who have none, and to fight for the common good of our nation. The world would be perfect if everyone chose the light side. But like a classic movie, if there is a ‘good guy’, there must also be a ‘bad guy’. And so a divide is created. Humanity must speak up for what is right and moral, see the goodness in everything, and to realize that each small random act of kindness is equal to many unkind acts. Therefore, one must agree that human nature is essentially good.…

The target audience for the film Donnie Darko would be the male gender from the ages of 16 – 24 and in the socio-economic grading boundary A – C1, this would be due to the fact that it requires a lot of thought to comprehend the complex narrative and structure and people in the higher grading may have a better education, therefore they may have a better understanding of the complexity of the plot, similarly, the fact that they have targeted a younger audience as they would be in some form of education when they watch the film which may stimulate them into thinking about the deeper meaning of the narrative and structure; a wider audience would be men from the ages of 25 – 30 in the same socio-economic grading boundary. The film contains many action codes which show the audience exactly what is happening, however it also contains enigmatic codes which leave the audience questioning the film and will make them want to watch until the end to see if it has an unresolved ending which means that they will have to find clarification by piecing together the information that they mentally gather from the film and then work it out for themselves or they’ll find that it may have a resolved ending so that the film will give them the answers to their questions without the additional thought. The institution has advertised the film as a sci-fi horror and they’ve used dark blue and black colours to entice a male audience to the film; they also may have chosen to use Jake Gyllenhaal, who was an unknown actor at the time, in this film as he is an attractive young male who could bring in a young female audience and a young male audience may be able to relate to him.…
