The Problem and its Background
Introduction
Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is a creeping vine which bears cylindrical edible fruit when ripe. The plant has large leaves that form a canopy over the fruit. Having an enclosed seed and developing from a flower, cucumbers are classified as Accessory fruits. However, much like tomatoes and squash they are often perceived, prepared and eaten as vegetables. Cucumbers are usually more than 90% water.
The cucumber originated in India, where a great many varieties have been observed. It has been cultivated for at least 3,000 years, and was introduced to other parts of Europe by the Greeks or Romans. Records of cucumber cultivation appear in France in the 9th century, England in the 14th century, and in North America by the mid-16th century.
Cucumbers are low in Saturated Fat, and very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Vitamin A, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Potassium.
Statement of the Problem This study aims to find out if cucumber can be an effective moisturizing facial mask. This study aims to solve the specific questions such as: 1. Does the cucumber have the ability to moisturize the skin? 2. What are the steps in making a cucumber facial mask? 3. How much time did it take for the product to work? 4. How did the respondents respond to our product?
Significance of the Study We know that the cucumber is a nutritious kind of vegetables which is why it is used in making beverages, salads and many other dishes. But in our study, we will find out how effective a cucumber is when it terms into skin problems. We also want to prove that cucumber is more effective facial mask than any other ingredients. When cucumber is turned into a facial mask, we don’t need to bother buying expensive treatments to our face thus, we can get a lower price in making the said
