Critical 1.) What kind of person is the singer/speaker? Why do you say so?
-I would say that the speaker/singer is a hero of some sort. It is because that in the song, the singer is talking about fighting and having courage just to reach that unreachable star.

Literal 2.) What is the rhyming scheme of the song? -The rhyming scheme of the song is abbb abcb aabb abcb abcb.
Literal 3.) What are the those the singer/speaker want to do?
-The singer/speaker stated things that he wants to do. He wants to dream the impossible dream, to fight the unbeatable foe, to bear the unbearable sorrow and to run where the brave don’t go. To right the unrightable wrong, to love pure and chaste from afar, to try when your arms are too weary and to reach the unreachable star.
Interpretive 4.) Why is the dream impossible?
-The singer’s dream is to be a hero. Giving everything he’s got, to fight with every last ounce of courage without question, going through hell and back willingly not just for himself but for the people behind him. The dream is not impossible, but only his doubts are the only things standing in the way of him conquering this quest.
Creative Reading 5.) If you are to add another stanza to the song, what will the lines be? Follow the tone of the song by mentioning impossible or improbable quests. -To give everything you can, and everything you’ve got The world will now know. To overcome the impossible dream And at last be a hero.

Integration 6.) Do you also have an impossible dream? What is it?
-“Don’t let your dreams be dreams” –Jack Johnson. As an 18 year old, I don’t have an impossible dream so far. But if I do, all it takes to make the dream come true is hard work, and faith. You can’t get anywhere if you don’t work hard for it, and indeed nothing is impossible with God.
Critical 7.) Does the singer/speaker have the qualities of a hero? Why? Why not?
-The singer/speaker has some qualities of a hero but at the same time he

This song enhances human understanding by telling what is really happening in the world; the status quo of our society. Some of us tolerate the injustice and violence that we see on TV, social media, and the like, but this song reminds us that we are here to spread love, not violence, hatred, and pain. This song just helps us realize that what most of us tolerate is wrong by showing how these issues greatly affects the youth, races, and the rest of the world.…

Many singers use songs to express their emotions. Armstrong does the same thing here in the song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." He conveys his loneliness caused by shattered dreams to the listeners through diction, figurative language, and repetition. By using such literary devices, he captures the attention of the listeners and tells them his story. He wants someone to love him and caress him when he feels lonely. That someone is still not with him and he will keep on looking until…

Former successful Olympian, Gail Devers, once said “Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication” (Gail Devers, Brainy Quotes). Dever’s words resonate as she inspires those who usually let obstacles keep them from chasing their dreams. As children with an overactive imagination, nothing seems out of reach. Somehow, as we grow older, we begin to notice our strengths and weaknesses and we end up letting go of our old dreams and moving on. Growing up, I fanaticized over what I would do as an adult. Those fantasies ranged from a world-famous pop star to President of the United States. Through all those times of make-believe speeches and singing into a hairbrush, one of my…
