"The Activity and Art of Reading"

Some people may agree with what the author tried to say about teachers helping students but students have to put part on as well. I personally agree with what he says, me as a student have to learn as well with the teacher learning with us. Learning may vary from country to country.

All of the students should make an effort about learning in each class they are in and with each teacher as well. Each person may learned differently if you come from different places around the world and may help a teacher learned from them as well. The role that the teachers play in each life of their student is unique and very important to start with the connection and trust with each of us. Cultures take a very important role in all the teachers’ life with interacting with his students.

Depending on the culture of each teacher is the way they may treat their students. Teachers that come from a united families may interact with students faster than other. Personality come alone way from teaching as well, teachers need to know how to deal with different students from all over the world. Students can sometimes be difficult to learn from teachers if they don't get along on their social life.

My opinion all the things the author described on his story have a good part on how teachers and students learned from each other. Sometimes its hard to help another if they don't want to be help. Culture, attitude are a very important part of a student and a teacher among other important things but for me those two can help a teacher and a student learned from each other and have a well environment.

One of the biggest problems today is misinformation. People pass judgments towards others without being properly informed and I think that it is extremely important for students to be exposed to all different cultures. Since I have done my student teaching in the last few years I actually was surprised at how much the students cultures were influenced by the assignments. Although the cultural teachings are not extremely expressed in the curriculum it is up to the teacher to fit it in to the lessons. I feel that at any time that a teacher can incorporate the student’s home lives and cultural practices they should. This helps not only the other students to gain knowledge about other student’s cultures and values, but it also helps the teachers to understand things that they may not know about.…

I think connecting the students to their own personal lives and community is an important thing. A teacher should incorporate their lessons to help students figure out who they are, and what they need to become as much as possible. Without learning about themselves or their community, a student can't connect everything together and open up opportunities to their future.…

These teachers based their assumptions on family issues, lack of money, parent awareness, and language barriers. They assumed that parents who never went to college would not provide enough support for a first generation college student or how launage barriers put the student behind. I think it is wrong of them to make these assumptions because all students have the potential to go to college, but it is the education system and these sterotypes that are oppressing them and stopping them for pursuing their dreams. Many of these teachers assumptions were countered as many of these student’s parents fought against issues such as harsh punishments in recess when both the districts and faulty least expected them to. Aldente works to create confiaza in both the parents and teachers, but also includes the mentors.…

As I watched the video for this particular lesson, I was impressed how both of the teachers were able to recall and help one another with different activities they had planned for their units. The roles of a teacher include day to day paper work including the class register and the marking of students work. There is also the conduct of initial assessments which will help to identify learner’s needs, knowledge and skill, this will help keep a record of which students are doing well and also which students that are not doing as well as they should be, then those students can have the help they need to get there. As a teacher it is imperative to act like a good role model for your students, for example; Time management, always be on time for your lessons, by doing this you are already teaching your students that time keeping is important, this helps set them up with the right skills ready for further education studies or employment.
