to receive imported goods, glass, olive oil, wine, brass, iron, copper, or ideas. An example of an idea exchanged was Christianity.
Religious and Ethical systems is disclosed in the Aksum empire because Aksum was a meeting point of religions. Christianity, Judaism and, later, Islam were the three religions that met in Aksum. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all have the main belief in one God (Monotheism). Therefore majority of people in the region believe in one God. The three religions differ from one another because they all have different Holy Books. The Christianity Holy Book is the Bible, the Judaism Holy Book is the Torah(similar to the OT of the Bible) and, the Islamic Holy Book is the Quran. Also, these religions have three different interpretations of Jesus. Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah and the second person in the trinity of God. Islamic people believe that Jesus is a prophet and that jesus is divine, but they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. The people of Judaism believe that Jesus was an ordinary Jew, he was not divine nor the messiah. Jewish people in aksum interact with the Christians because Jewish people of Aksum have a common ancestor with modern day Judaism and the Jewish people of Aksum were more like pre christians. The text nor the outside resource state how the religious groups acted towards non members, so I am going to infer the religions were peaceful and respectful to each other because if their would was any tension or problems between the cultures we would have discussed the problem or the problem would be stated in the textbook.
Ezana of Aksum was determined to establish and expand his authority. Ezana's great determination to conquer and expand falls under the theme Power and Authority. Ezana of Aksum held the power of Aksum through the years A.D. 325 - 360 A.D. Ezana of Aksum inherited his power as infant. Ezana inherited the throne so early due to the death of his father. The system of government that provides order in the Aksum society seems to be a dictatorship because there seems to be only one person in charge (Ezana of Aksum). Ezana of Aksum kept power because he kept conquering more lands and expanded the Aksum empire.
