The alternative healing system I am focusing on is mind-body interventions. There are an assortment of techniques aimed to enhance the mind's capacity to affect bodily function and symptoms. Some techniques include meditation, prayer, faith healing, guided imagery, yoga, biofeedback, and art, music, and dance therapy. The healing system can be activated by a simple intention of the mind that is as simple as truly believing the techniques mentioned above are effective. As well, when you are physically or emotionally stressed, your body releases stress hormones that can affect all your systems and organs. This stress can lead to illness, and I believe that participating in mind-body healing is a useful way to relieve the symptoms caused by stress. The techniques also provide a good way to stay healthy by keeping your stress and anxiety levels down. This mind-body healing system is a good alternative to Western allopathic medicine because people can follow what their religious beliefs require while alleviating symptoms that are not a result of a serious disease. Techniques in this alternative healing system are already becoming more accepted by society. I believe they will play a large role in future patient care because people are always looking for new and better way to do things, and this is a new, more natural way to stay healthy. I believe that mind-body healing is effective, and that pain and illness are impacted by the placebo effect. As a Catholic, I strongly believe in the prayer, and have personally seen it work miracles. For patients looking to feel well overall, I would recommend trying out one of these practices to help improve their quality of life. As well, I would suggest this method of healing to future patients who are looking for options and tell them that studies have shown these
