People are frequently shown getting rich quick on shows like who wants to be a millionaire and so on TV, or you can achieve fame by being an overnight success on shows like America’ s Next Top Model. The normal folks at home sometimes look at these types of stuff, and believe the hype that such shows generate; that one can get rich quick, just by being on a game show. This has made some African Americans or Americans in general think they can become rich overnight and not put in the hard work needed to be wealthy. I believe African Americans have made everything in this world race related. I understand that one has to work a lot more if they’re black in order to succeed, however I believe you still put the work in then. There are a lot of well educated wealthy African Americans in the United States. I’m sure they put the work in. Martin Luther King’s American dream is to have equality for everyone, but namely African Americans. Back then African Americans were not given good job opportunities. They were isolated and it was hard for them to live happily when all the families with white males could have high paying jobs and affords the comforts of life. However, time has passed and slavery is no more in America so I believe there should be no excuse to achieving
