The Aquino Administration: a Fail
Trade and Education are two different terms unless privatization and commercialization of public education persists. This had been a constant battle of those who contradicts the handing out of State
Universities and Colleges(SUCs) to private corporation. This seems to be way of the Aquino administration in rationalizing and increasing school fees through foreign entities.
As student, who studies at a State University, who lives without a mother and a father and dependent only of scholarships, I take in risks over these dangerous ideals and move of the government.
Our country continues to suffer from 'foreign ideologies' from the hands of the liberalists' and capitalists' minds who view Philippine education as marketable. It can never be nor it has not to be stone-lifted experimentation. Every decision with lieu of it is at my utmost concern as youth who got dreams ahead.
Picturing out, this privatization of SUCs wil only end up to the decrease of enrolment and then employment. What this issue has is the venturing out of possibilities of winning global competitiveness-frozen to the lowest extremities.
This social and constitutional function of education turn to market and commodity one has to struggle
(a lot) to have, thus, providing students and their parents heavier burdens in continuing higher education. If the government takes this as door of investments, they should be reminded that this is education, more than clearer away from market economies. Privatization of SUCs is not democracy. Our constitution defies it as public good and right. This defiance of the constitution is being carried out by
SUCs and this is an issue of unconstitutionality and antipeople. Once it full takes effect, education will ponder as privileges. Simply because rights are protected and ensured by public entities, privileges are for private entities.
