Standardized testing is only for data it doesn't help students it doesn't help anyone but the district and unfortunately students are forced to take it every year. Standardized testing only evaluate the student's performance that day. There are so many factors that could hinder the performance. If a student has an argument with their parents on the morning of a test, chances are the focus is going to be somewhere else. Standardized testing only allows teachers to teach to the test and not how they would like. It creates an atmosphere that is boring and lacks creativeness. Unfortunately success in schools depend on the scores of these tests, money is only giving two schools that perform well. Therefore, school reform is the best way to go. School reform could unlock new ways to teach students. No more lectures and each student could connect in their own way. This doesn’t mean this change has to happen all at once. We could start slow with getting rid of standardised testing for example. Just something small to ease the blow. So in conclusion the american school system needs reform, students are unhappy, they are over stressed and students that learn a different way, even a little bit different, are left behind in the dust and fall behind.
