The Art Of Emesio R. Miranda Or Nemiranda

We have a lot of different great artist here in the Philippines and one of them is Nemesio R. Miranda or “Nemiranda” for short. Nemiranda learned how to draw when he was at the age of five years old. Instead of seeing notes written on his notebook,but you will see that it is full of drawings. And when he gone to college he took the course of “Fine Arts” at UST ,even though his father didn’t like the course that he took. Nemiranda said that art is his passion and art is the only thing that he can do.And I ask Nemiranda that if he regrets something that he didn’t follow what his father wants him to do.He answered that he never regret that he didn’t follow what his dad wants him to do. It should always start on your passion. Mission is really to create things. anythings that you like to present or show, we must show what you can create. According to Nemiranda, that all people are considered are all artist that we have different creative aspects, different way,technique, or scheme to show our creativity or greatness in art like music,dancing,writing, saying a poet,acting, all are form of expression that each and everyone of us has a talent or greatness in theirselves. All we need to do according to Nemiranda is to nurture or take good care of it. All of us has greatness in him or her it is just sometimes sleeping with us all we need to do is awaken it and that is what he thinks that God want us to do. Because it is a gift of God that he created or gifted us a talent and that is the features of being a human being. We humans created by God that we are created to be creative.Discover what you have in yourself, discover the real you ,and be the best on what you can do. In his province, he successfully set the Timog Tagalog TURISINING (Art tourism) art congress in Tanay, Rizal last September 2012.
“I have organized a lot of art events all over the country. Three in Mindano, three in Visayas, three in Luzon and then once in a year there’s a Philippine Visual Art Festival. Dito ko ginawa yung sa Luzon— sa Angono,” Nemiranda said.
Miranda extends his advocacy beyond providing the exhibition space for Angono artists and a gallery for arts appreciation. He established the Angono Visual Arts School to forge talents of Angono. He also has his regular sketching sessions every Saturday which will be soon conducted on the second level of the art gallery and museum.
“So, art shouldn’t be sleeping. In a place where nothing happens, the talent of artists fades because there is no outlet. They make artworks but there’s no one around to see it, so I create art events,” Nemiranda said.
“I was the first cultural worker here to really revolutionize art in Angono. Before, it was just a quiet space where Botong is the only known artist and no other else. But today, because of the programs we did for Angono for the last 40 years, Angono is now known as the artist’s place,” he
