Once in charge of the cryptography team Turing fires two members and then uses a puzzle in the newspaper to recruit a new member of the team. Turing’s newspaper search results in Joan Clarke joining the team, but in secret because her parents will not allow her to work with the male cryptographers. Dennison becoming increasingly frustrated with Turing sets a deadline for Christopher to break enigma. After working on enigma for two years Turing is able to crack the code after an interaction with a female clerk and realizing the words the weather, heil, and Hitler would be in every 6:00 am message. Once enigma was cracked the team had to stratigley act on the information, so the Germans would never know that enigma was no longer viable.
