Nutrition is the key to develop and maintain state of health that is optimum for human body. It can be classified into six classes that give benefits for our health such as carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, proteins, minerals and water needs to acquire from food. (Khosroshahi, 2009). “Nutrition means nurturing the body to keep it healthy and functioning”. (Scott, 2008). If you lack certain nutrition, your health may deteriorate. Therefore, the benefits of nutrition are to ensure healthy teeth, reinforce the immune system, maintain good mental health, prevent diseases and accelerate wound healing. The first benefit of nutrition is to ensure healthy teeth. Calcium is needed by the body to build strong teeth and strong bones. By eating dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables are enough for your body. Water is also good for your teeth and gums. It can keep your mouth wet and neutralize the plaque. Food that contains high fiber can increase saliva flow in your mouth. It will “help neutralize acids and clean teeth of any left behind food particles” (Stewart, 2007). It is important to limit sugary food to keep our teeth and gums healthy. It is suggested that we should eat foods like cheese, peanut, and sugar free chewing gums because it can help to reducing the acid on teeth so that it will free from bacteria that will produce plaque. We must visit the dentist twice a year to improve our dental health. The second benefit of nutrition is to reinforce the immune system. According to Urmann (2008), the intake of a little selenium is good for your immune system. Selenium is an enzyme that produces free radicals, restrain tumor enlargement and the best source of selenium is Brazil nut. Consuming more Vitamin C can improve cell functions of the immune system. Vitamin C is rich in all kinds of fruits and vegetables. (Urmann, 2008). To boost the immune defenses in the gut, a normal consumption of fermented dairy food is needed. Yoghurts
