Upon seeing the dead body, Gordie comments that they then knew that 'death was real' . Do you need to proof to know that something exists? Can you deny the existence of something if you just ignore it? Explain.
There is this verb ‘to be’. Everything that ‘is’ exists, right? Existence has been variously described by many different sources. Some sources describe it as everything that ‘is’, or simply ‘everything’. Some define it to be everything most people believe in.
We all know that the planet Mars exists. This is because we have seen pictures of it and people have been there to build things. Every single person on the world needs proof to know that something exists. Our minds are built in a way that we accept an assertion as the truth when we have evidence of it. This could be strong or weak evidence. We base a lot of beliefs on pictures, soundtracks or articles. We believe these articles because they are probably written by smart journalists who have done research and who have interviewed other people. Proof is described in a dictionary as “the evidence that the mind accepts to compel an assertion as true”, so could you call a news article proof? Yes, because it shows us exactly what we want to know or believe. However, it is still from the perspective of another person, which you need to trust on to believe what you read in the article. Most people already have clear thoughts about many beliefs and subjects that many people doubt on to be true. Think about ghosts, aliens and more of these beliefs that are not proved by science (yet).
In ‘The Body’, written by Stephen King, Vern Tessio was the first one of the boys to see the dead body. When the rest of the boys ran towards him and looked down, Gordie comments that they then knew that ‘death was real’. This is an example showing that you must have proof before you can be sure about something. These boys had never seen death before, so they were shocked by finding the
