The cask of Amontillado and the Story behind the cask of Amontillado are very similar but also different. These stories have the same meaning but they are different in setting and storyline. The meaning of the Cask of Amontillado is to get revenge and if that doesn't work then keep holding your head up high and that is the same in both stories. The setting of the Cask is mainly in a catacombs, a place where people put dead people underground, and the setting of the story behind it was mainly at a military camp and also in a dungeon. Both the victims were chained to the wall and left their to die. So this essay is about the similarities and differences of the two stories. First, this will summarize the similarities between the two. The similarities of these stories are that the victims are both chained to the wall and left to die by people that they made fun of. If I got made fun like that I don't know if I would go that far by killing the person but I would get revenge. Another example of a similarity is that they were both about getting revenge. I say this because they chained a guy up to the wall and left him there. Last the stories were both about two guys getting made fun of, then they went over their heads and killed them. I just think that was a little bit much don't you think? Next, the differences. This story had a few differences that I will explain right now, The cask of Amontillado was set in a catacomb, the Story Behind the Cask of Amontillado was set in a dungeon. Even though these are pretty similar they are still different. Another example of a difference is that one story was at a carnival and the Story behind the Cask was at a military camp. These two are really different, a carnival and a military camp, that's pretty different.
