The French and Indian war ended in 1763, meaning the economical, political, and ideological aspect of things changed significantly. The downfall that Britain took was essentially the reason why the American Revolutionary war happened.…
The French and Indian war officially began in the year 1754, and ended 9 years later in 1763 after the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Even though the war ensured that the Great Britain gained territorial control in North America, the costs led to the colonies paying for the war expenses through the frontier policy. This had great effects on the colonies businesses and livelihood and thus ultimately led to great discontentment between the British and the colonies eventually leading to the American Revolution.…
For many years, throughout the 17th century and 18th century, Britain maintained a neutral relationship with its American colonies. By upholding salutary neglect, the British policy of avoiding strict enforcement of parliamentary laws, the American colonies remained obedient to Britain. However, after the French and Indian War (1754-1763), Britain's relations with its colonist were drastically altered. The war greatly damaged Britain's economy and because of its pyrrhic victory, a series of taxes were implemented on the American colonists. The unfair taxation ideologically changed the Americans' views on Britain and they felt they were not represented in Parliament. The French and Indian war altered the relations between Britain and its American colonists politically by giving Britain control of the east, economically by putting Britain in extreme debt and compelling Parliament to impose taxes on its colonists, and ideologically by shifting the colonists' loyalty towards rebellion against Britain.…
The French-Indian War was a major turning point in relations between the Americans and the British. American colonists were generations removed from their British ancestry, and it showed on the battlefield. The Brits and Americans had different tactics and ideals during the war. These differences created bitterness between the Americans and British economically, theologically, and socially following the war due to the fact that the British controlled the colonies and could therefore tax them/tell them what to do. If two countries hate each other, and one of the countries has control of the other one, problems are bound to arise, as they did between America and Britain following the French-Indian War. These problems would eventually lead to the American Revolution.…
The New England colonies had many different types of migrants that traveled there. Many families with kids, mostly all under the age of 10 years migrated to the New England colonies (Document B). People mainly traveled to New England because of the large amount of landmigrants recieved no matter of their social rank. The right to practice any religion was a huge pull factor to the New England colonies. New England was destined to be a perfect society for all the world to look up to (Document A). They were more focused on religious freedom than the Chesapeake region. Puritans wanted freedom from persecution in England and the amount of puritans who settled in New England was mass because of the discontent they had with the church of England and sought religious, moral and societal reforms. This also explains why the New England migrants were less concerned with relations with England than the Chesapeake region migrants were because of the trade relations the southern regions needed with England to continue to keep succeeding in farming.…
The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War in Europe, played a large role in the Ideological, Political and Economical changes made between the British and the American Colonists. The defeat of the French in the war gave the British a bittersweet upper hand in the massive economic factors and it also gave the British a gigantic stretch of political control of the American Colonists. On top of the political and economic advances the British won, the war also changed the ideological views between the British and the French.…
The French and Indian War (1754-1763) took place in a very daunting period of American history, when there was a lot of tension between the colonists and the British who lived in England. This eventually led to the American Revolution. At the time, the English, the French, and the Spanish all had control over some parts of North America. The war was mainly a struggle over which nation, France or Britain, would have control of the Ohio River Valley, although there were native groups that allied themselves with one side or the other. It began with the Battle of Fort Duquesne and was considered the first world war, or the Seven Years’ War in Europe. However, the French and Indian War itself altered the relationship between Britain and its American…
As more colonists from Britain began to settle in the colonies, more land was needed to accommodate the larger number of people. In the past, disputes with Indians have been caused by the colonists’ need for land, and its resources, which the Indians needed as well. The Indians would either peacefully move inland, or fight back violently. As King George wanted the Ohio River Valley that France occupied, he sent Washington and his troops to occupy the Ohio River region to claim his presence, thus the competition for the territory, which evolved into the French and Indian War. The French and Indian War was a turning point in American history, for the colonists and colonial affairs were strictly monitored unlike before, and treaties with Indians…
The American Revolution was the war between the Americans and the French against the British for their land and independence. The French and Indian War was the war for American soil between the Colonies of Britain and New France. The French and Indian war impacted the British and the Colonies in terms of global connections, governance, civic ideals and practices, and economics; all of which are four factors of the Revolution…
The French and Indian war resulted in increased tensions between the British Colonists and their mother country. Britain’s failures at the beginning of the war made the colonists question the strength and power of Great Britain, seeing how easily they were defeated. Taxing of the colonies was forced upon to fix England’s debt without colonist representation in Britain. Slowly, the colonists began to desire independence from their mother country as their best interest was not at…
The whole thing started with the french expanding toward the ohio river, and Britain did not like that one bit. When the french and indian war over it threw everyone off balance. This war was…
The French and Indian War took place over 9 years. It was fought between the French and British with the help of Indians on both sides. The dispute was over the land in the Ohio Valley which was land crucial for fur trading with Indians. Both countries claimed the land, thus resulting in the French and Indian War which was a major turning point because it ended salutary neglect, therefore resulting in the Sugar Act and soon the Townshend Act which was crucial because this all then lead to the Revolution along with the result of more colonial unity.…
There were actually a series of "French and Indian Wars" between 1689 and 1763. The last one started in 1754, and is usually called "The" French and Indian War, and was part of the Seven Years War, in which France and Spain were allied against England. The American colonists fought with the English Army against the French and their Iroquois allies. The usual effects of war were suffered by all: Death and destruction of property and great financial burdens. British and French forts were the main objectives, but many towns in the colonies were attacked by the French.…
The French and Indian War was a victorious war (for the British) in which we defeated the French to gain the Ohio River Valley. Having the Ohio River Valley in our possession is essential because it was an idea place for fur trade. My personal motivation for trying my best in the war was Benjamin Franklin’s “Join or Die” political cartoon. It depicted that the Thirteen Colonies should unite and work together to solve any conflict. I’m not sure what his purpose was, but maybe it sparked the Revolution?…
The events that took place before the American Revolution affected history in such a way giving the British and colonists the need to have a Revolution. The French and Indian war is the name for the war that took place between Great Britain and France in North America from 1754 to 1763. The aftermath of this war was a big part leading up to the American Revolution. The war changed economic, political, and social relations between the three European powers (Britain, France, and Spain) their colonies and colonists, and the natives that occupied the territories they demanded. The war finally ended with the signing of the treaty of Paris in 1763. France and Britain suffered financially because of the war.…
