The Ch I Lin Sacrifice

Can a small sacrifice really change someone's life? I know what you are thinking, no, but a sacrifice can actually change someone’s life. Hsiang Lin gave something away to someone she didn’t even know, and Tony gave something away over something that he really wanted. Sacrifices are really hard because you have to give up something that you really want or like and not expecting anything in return.

In The Ch'i-Lin Purse, Hsiang Lin had a Ch’i-Lin Purse and she gave it to a crying bride on her wedding day. Without letting the bride know that she was the one that gave her the purse. Also without knowing what was inside the purse when Lin gave it to the bride. The bride felt really happy about this because when Lin babysat the kid, that happened to be the brides child, she went into the building that she wasn’t supposed to go into to get the ball for the kid, Lin found the purse and started to cry. Then the bride came in and talked to her about the purse, after that the bride was so happy that she had found the person that made her go from poor to rich. Lin also got the last bowl of porridge and she gave it to an old woman she didn’t know. She can stand hunger longer than the old woman that was behind her. The old woman was both surprised and happy at the same time, surprised because she didn’t think Lin would just give up her
Then Toney used all of his money that he was saving for a saddle, for his grandmother’s bracelet because she wouldn’t go outside without her bracelet on and she was sick. With her bracelet, grandmother was better the next time they checked on her because she finally got outside. Then grandmother traded her next rug that she would make for Tony’s saddle and that made Tony really happy because he thought someone had bought it so he would never be able to get the saddle he was saving up
