The Chains Of Proteins And Macromolecules
Organic molecules are the molecules of life. They are built like chains of carbon atoms. There are four main groups which include, lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic acids. Carbon-based molecules are organic molecules. Carbon is important because it can bond up to four different atoms in order to form chains, branches, and rings. Monomers and polymers are very similar. In order to have polymers, you need monomers, because the chains of monomers are what make up the macromolecules.
Proteins are made of C, H, O, N. They provide structure functions. Some functions include metabolism, defense, movement, transport, signaling, etc. Proteins monomer are amino acids. Lipids are made of C, H, O. Lipids are insoluble in water, they are hydrophobic.

Polymers a large molecules made up of a chain of smaller molecules, known as monomers. The monomers that a polymer is made up of decide its structure and therefore it's function. These monomers are linked and coiled in a very specific manor giving the polymer a specific tertiary structure (an extensively coiled and linked polymer chain caused as a result of the formation of more bonds forming). This tertiary structure is crucial to the function of a polymer as it denotes the necessary shape of the complementary molecule. This is easier explained through an example.…

    A. The four types of organics are lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates. This is because lipids help the body function by storing energy and nutrients, structural components of the cell membrane. Proteins help structure and function throughout the body, and the nucleic acids is the gene that carries genetic information and forms structure within the cells.…

Despite the greatly limited scope of the universe, people have spent centuries searching for the explanations to how life existed on this planet. Indeed, the atomic structures that form the basis of matter still must exist in order to develop life, but what significant atomic structures are there to make this happen? Respectively, a much broader scale can be utilized to assemble the main components for life, which they are called macromolecules. Macromolecules are very large molecular structures that contain carbon and are the vital organs for the structure and function of all living things. The first macromolecule that will be addressed is the carbohydrate.…
