The Chemical and Physical Effects of Drugs on the Human Body

While the text states that taking "drugs won’t enhance creativity", I disagree, because for one, some of our best music comes from the major drug using era known as the 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s. All joking aside, I mainly just disagree with this statement in particular because I think it could have been worded a bit differently and really define what they mean by a “drug” especially because I think addiction affects everyone. What people think about when they see the word can be anything (usually derived from their own experience perhaps with loved ones who were addicted) the thought of what a drug is (as well as the thought of what addictive behaviors and patterns are) may vary from person to person and it happens to do with and can be a many assortment of things that make up a part of everyone’s life. It’s just when a person starts to do something obsessively and excessively, do things with no regard of or for their own life, and also having and feeling like they cannot control themselves because their life is falling into in a downward spiral or they are already feeling the undertow. -Intended to be associated with being a part of (in) and an album from two very talented bands. Although drugs affecting creativity is not supportive in either argument, per say, it still effects everyone in one way or another whether to inspire a career or destroy a life. While the text states that, “you don’t have to be a genius to be creative,” even genius’s fall victim to drug abuse and one perspective (although no one has answered this question satisfactorily), also from the text, suggests that drugs harm creativity because, “their addiction reduces judgment, and the activities they provoke are hallucinatory rather than illuminating.”-Brewster Ghiselin The bottom line is, that if you have lost control in whatever aspect of your life, drugs or not, the journey (experience) in recovering complete control will enlighten your “creative discipline” so the more you are in control of,
