It can be hard to actually enjoy reading a novel sometimes as you may find that the novel can be hard to relate to, or it simply just doesn’t entertain you. Because of this, authors tend to use specific techniques while writing, that make it easier to grab the reader and really engage them within the story itself. The Chocolate War is a strong example of how many authors follow this same formula for writing, and use it as a sort of backbone for their work. Connotations definition: An idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning
“They murdered him”[1]-he got beat up, “His Stubble, like slivers of ice”[4]-Gray hairs.
4. At some point of all stories, usually near the end of the writing, all the connections begin to come together. Once all of these pieces have come together they start to begin to form some kind of suspense. Whether it be suspence due from conflict or even just a major decision being made, there is always at least some suspense in the story, and with the suspense, conflict and any level of mystery all gradually escalating, into being the climax of the story
