Before the 3 losses, the Cavs also got a 35-point beating from arch-rival Golden State Warriors. That and the latest defeats seems to be signifying that they are losing composure going to the postseason. And LeBron James has recently made a statement about his concern with the current situation of the team and what the Cavs management had to do.
According to SB Nation, after their loss to the Pelicans, LeBron James criticized
the team for not doing anything to upgrade their lineup and disappointed that they are not improving as a unit. He pointed out that there's something to be done and he is suggesting to have 'playmaker' on their roster. With that, here is are three potential point guards that could be available on the trade market.
Rajon Rondo
From being a starting point guard for the Chicago Bulls, Rondo is now relegated to the second unit as a backup to Michael Carter-Williams. Many believed that it might not take too long and he will be dealt by the Bulls. The Cavs could use his playmaking skills and an excellent defender to big guards in the backcourt.
Derrick Rose
Rose has been the subject of controversy lately after he didn't suit up in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans and left without prior notice. Rose's AWOL put his future and career with the New York Knicks in question. The Cavs should consider of adding the 28-year old Chicago native as many believed that he still has the explosiveness form that he had during his MVP season.
Ricky Rubio
Up until now, the drama on where Rubio will be headed is still debated online as of this moment. Though the Minnesota Timberwolves management never confirmed that they are shopping Rubio, some say that his current situation tells it all. The Cavs should take advantage of acquiring him and use his great passing ability to open shooter just like Kyrie Irving who is a good spot up shooter.
However, FOXSports revealed that LeBron James can find the answer to his 'playmaker' problem on their roster and the playmaker he is looking for is none other than Kyrie Irving. Irving natural position is point guard and not a shooting guard but he evolved to become one through the years.
Now, LeBron needs to do is to ask Irving to embrace his role to be the true point guard for them as per stated in the report. Whether Irving, James or the Cleveland Cavaliers team don't change their game plan, there are 3 potential point guard targets for them before the trade deadline.
