The American Revolution was a war for consolidation. Prior to gaining independence from Britain, the American colonies were under different social classes. This brought distress amongst the poor because they were the ones who suffered the most. To counter that, many groups combined to form unification to break their alliance from Britain. In chapter 4 of Tyranny is Tyranny, he states, “In North Carolina, a “regulator Movement” of white farmers was organized against wealthy and corrupt officials in the period from 1766 to 1771” (Zinn). These group of people were oppressed by the rich. The “Regulators” resented the tax system making adjustments to new laws that were in favor for them. This is significant because this is where the beginning of…
Throughout the history of the United States of America, the American Revolutionary War was undoubtedly the event that was most impactful and decisive towards the ultimate fate of this country. Without it, this country wouldn’t have seen its formation in the first place. It began in the 1750’s and 1760’s, when British colonists who settled in the 13 colonies became fed up with British rule, taxation, and laws set on them. For example, when the taxes for tea were imposed on the colonies, a large majority started revolting, and strived for liberty from the British, so that they could govern themselves and create their own laws. As a result, many who lived in the colonies, including famous patriots, eventually sparked a revolution until a full-out…
The American Revolution fundamentally changed American society in many different ways. Americans gained independence from Great Britain and began to govern themselves democratically and deal with their own dilemmas like slavery, internal revolts and rights of different groups of people without foreign interference. They utilized farming as the main labor but trade and manufacturing also picked up due to the end of mercantilism and the Navigation Laws.…
After the American Revolution, Americans, who had just broken free from the British, completely changed their politics, economy and society. The Founders decided to change how they wanted to run their society, even though, in the end, they went back to a more powerful federal government like Britain. Most people’s daily lives didn’t change much but the principles from the revolution made some try to look for better financial opportunities. Women, slaves, and loyalists were changed a lot in society. Women had more freedoms, some of the slaves were set free, and many loyalists left America. America did not go through much economic change, but it did experience social and political change.…
The revolutionary era, 1763-1789, began towards the developed colonies to the extent that the nation, of its capacity, was to separate as there had become conflict that led to revolt. During this era there was no stable government, which questioned the nation’s identity. This brought upon the laws and acts being made toward the colonists’ by the British parliament and King George to help them pay off their debt after the Seven Years’ War. The acts that were made had a purpose to benefit all the people in the colonies, but instead created additional tension. The result towards the end of the era was for America to become independent from Great Britain through war and documentation that became important in history.…
Given these points, the American Revolution changed life forever. Many meetings and battles happened. Great Britain made tax laws for the Colonies, Stamp Act, Sugar Act and the Townshend Acts. As a result to the colonists protesting, it lead to some big events, being the Boston Massacre, Burning of the British ship and the Boston Tea Party. And also the colonist being done with the king and British Parliament, they wrote the Declaration of Independence. But The Acts, protests against the acts and the Declaration of Independence were most important to the American…
Like the earlier distinction between “origins” and “causes,” the Revolution also had short- and long-term consequences. Perhaps the most important immediate consequence of declaring independence was the creation of state constitutions in 1776 and 1777. The Revolution also unleashed powerful political, social, and economic forces that would transform the post-Revolution politics and society, including increased participation in politics and governance, the legal institutionalization of religious toleration, and the growth and diffusion of the population. The Revolution also had significant short-term effects on the lives of women in the new United States of America. In the long-term, the Revolution would also have significant effects on the…
The American Revolution was a political upheaval that took place between 1765 and 1783 during which colonists in the Thirteen American Colonies rejected the British monarchy and aristocracy, enforced their refusal to fall under the authority of Great Britain, and founded the new, independent United States of America. After the revolution, America face three challenges: the country hand no real government, no financial system, and no foreign friend. The first task was to develop a real government. That’s when the Articles of Confederation were established in 1777. They were not ratified until 1781.…
The Great Fear was a panic time and a riot by Peasants and other amid rumors of a conspiracy by a privileged King to overthrow the Third Estate. It all started when the royal finances were in great debt due in spite of the British and their horrible decision to care for the people who were rebelling in the American Revolution. These riots were caused by economic concerns, rural panic and the power of the rumour. Disagreement between the assembly and the king caused great problems because the nobles wanted lower taxes but, the king continued to higher the taxes. The second reason for the Great Fear to happen was the voting system. This gave the people on vote to the church, one to the head of the assembly, then one more to the third estate.…

When looking back in American history the Revolution is arguably one of the greatest turning points from its past. The American Revolution emancipated the New England colonies from Britain and led them on a path to become the powerful nation they currently are. This Revolution is incredibly significant and changed more than one would imagine in the United States. Prior to the American Revolution Britain controlled the trade throughout the colonies and only allowed them to trade with Britain. This was universally seen as negative through the colonies and was one of the many reasons why the Colonists felt they should be free. Another way in which Britain economically controlled the colonies were by imposing taxes, such as the Stamp and Sugar Act, which were see as unjust. The belief of “No taxation without representation” was unanimous throughout the colonies and led to much conflict. When America became independent through the Revolution, the Colonists made the decision for their country to have free trade and to only tax the citizens for the benefit or their own country. Not only did the American Revolution benefit the United States economically, it also had a large political impact. By writing and signing the Declaration of Independence, the Colonists created a new government in the name of “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” (The Declaration of Independence). This document separated the United States from the Parliament and allowed the Colonists to build a government in a way they saw fit. The American Revolution was critical to the development of the United States. Through this Revolution, America earned the economic and political freedom that the Colonists believed they deserved.…
Conflicts and violence in society are nothing new to the human race. Whether it's between the “haves” and the “have nots,” the government versus it's citizens, or citizens verses each other, constant conflict seems to be an aspect of civilization that humanity cannot live without. The most detrimental of conflicts that influenced the Revolution were factors of economic strife, the brewing conflict between colonists and the British rulers, as well as the discord between the colonists themselves. Although there are different theories as to how or why the initial conflicts started, there is no denying that America has a bloody history and a common usage of violence as an end to its means. A constant factor throughout history is the bloodshed…

The American Revolution was a war between Great Britain and the original thirteen colonies of America, in 1775. The conflict, was about how the colonies felt they weren’t being treated fairly by the Great Britain laws. There are different events that led up to the American Revolution, the three discussed in this paper will be the Boston Tea Party, the Stamp Act, and the Intolerable Acts. The Boston tea party was a protest against taxation. The Intolerable Act was when the British passed a law that was meant to punish the colonist who took part in the Boston Tea Party. The Stamp Act was when the British imposed taxes on all paper documents in the colonies.…
The American Revolution embarked the beginning of the United States of America. A war that lasted eight years, 1775-1783, was able to grant the thirteen colonies the independence they deserved by breaking free of British rule. The war was an effect of the previous French and Indian War, which forced England to tax the American colonist, compelling them to rebel against parliament. From the 1760’s to 1775, many factors lead up to the American Revolution such as the various acts the British Parliament passed to pay the war debt, no representation in parliament, and the American people wanting to gain their independence. “No Taxation without Representation”, a slogan used by the American colonist, was the most important cause of the colonists declaring war for their independence on the British government.…
