At a Church of Christ church, many folk practices include fancy dress, a cappella music, baptisms, Sunday schools, and roles in the church. Men of the church wear button-down shirts, with a bowtie or tie, slacks, and oxfords. Ladies of my church wear dresses, skirts, and pants, sometimes with pantyhose,
and flats or heels, often accessorized with jewelry. During the church service, music is rarely played to accompany the choir. The church roles are set up where the elders are at the top, overseeing the deacons, the minister is included. Deacons are usually being prepared to be with the elders, but until then, they are usually over the small parts of the church, like children’s Sunday School. The clergy are after the deacons.
