Eventually he realizes that he doesn’t need reasons he just needs to make different things a priority in his life. This shows Roth’s character and how he is the one to eventually realize his reasons were wrong and he learned from it. These experiences make his advice credible and trustworthy. He also shows that he is experienced and asserts his authority in this way. He does so in an effective way towards his audience. Roth uses stories that the reader can relate to and language that many of his readers most likely use. The chapter title language alone grabs the reader’s attention. Bernard Roth is a very knowledgeable person; he shows this by letting the reader know that he has messed up when it comes to his reasons as well. He isn’t perfect, but his failures can make the reader a better person. Lastly he shows his overall experience and knowledge by giving exercises to do to help his audience realize that reasons really are BS.
