The Crucible Reflection
There were multiple texts we read in this English class. There were some good ones and some really bad ones honestly. The movie we had to watch was the crucible. It was about some girls acting like they were casting spells on some poor young boys, and they were dancing around a fire, someone saw them dancing and thought it was witchcraft. The girls act the whole entire movie and like twenty some people died, it was ridiculous. But in all honesty this was the dumbest movie I have ever saw in my life. Making the film was a waste of money. First of all, the girls killing everybody because they were acting like the devil was in their town. They thought they saw the devil, little girls acted like they were sleeping and did not wake up. They were …show more content…
The only good part is where they take off their clothes. But that was the only good part. The guy saw them dancing in the movie around the fire and he freaked out and saw a chicken in the pot, so he went to this guy who finds Satan and makes him leave. When in all reality he was never there and the girls were being stupid acting like they were there. Then there is this little prostitute who is trying to get at john proctor, now I will tell you in the next paragraph. Last but not least, John Proctor was a stud and all of the chicks wanted him. But he was married and cheated on his wife, with the maid so he kicked her out and apologized to his wife and they are still together. But this girl I think her name is Annie she had the affair with him and she still wants him. So she tells him she dreams of him going through the window, and yeah know, but he says no and says words. So then she gets him and his wife executed. In conclusion, this movie was straight up the most God awful film I have ever seen in my life. But it was for a grade and you know I had to do it. But it is awful the acting and everything else is not good. The acting and the people were just bad. But hey, it is what it is. I have forty more words to waste about this garbage movie you made us watch and now ten more words about this movie that was a waste of time and money. But hey, it is what it

As the story continues on into the actual recollection, they morals of the characters become clear, it demonstrates how they just want to cause trouble in any way that they can just to fill the part as “bad”. It seems that they have almost developed how they act based on movies, they listened to rock and roll, smoked, did drugs, drank, and hung out with girls at the place where all “the cool kids were”, Greasy Lake. but it quickly becomes clear that they are just not a fit for the role.…

Some actors acted and appeared entirely different in the movie than the book. The directing and special effects were okay in some scenes, but half-baked and lousy in others. Furthermore, the characters are developed far less in the film and many semi-important scenes in the novel are excluded in the film. Do not watch this movie unless you have read the novel (or even if you have read it). If you haven’t read the book and decide to watch the movie instead, you will fail to understand the complicated relationships between each character and between the Socs and Greasers and just think the movie is substandard and all aspects of the movie lacked in action, emotion, or just seemed like they were not well thought out. A 3.5/10 may seem harsh, but I was not pleased. Just go read the book instead. It had the potential to be a great film, but severely missed the…

In the book The Crucible the girls portrayed a very demonic way of acting. They all claimed to be seeing spirits and they were controlled by Satan. Each girl followed the rest of the girls almost as if they were commanded to. They accused others for being witches and said that they were controlling them. This continues to go on until 19 people were dead by hanging and one pressed to stone.…

The Crucible is a good portrayal of the events that happened. The vulgar acts of the townspeople to these ladies is profusely obscene. This would not happen today, people may get immensely worked up over things but they would never kill people like that. In today's society we still have radicals, but law enforcement would never let this happen. The peril of what happened back then is an abomination; it is a blemish on our country.…

In Arthur Miller's, The Crucible, not much was received, except for the revenge of a heart broken girl. I didn't find this play intriguing like most plays I have read before. If you want to watch a girl throw a tantrum over a guy and get rid of her rivals, then I recommend watching Mean Girls or befriend a high school queen bee, instead of reading The Crucible. Not much is offered to you other than blame and the act of revenge, which was lacked as well. In fact, the witch hysteria played a minor role and very little action were taking place.…

In “The Crucible,” it is clearly illustrated that religion is the foundation in which the society of Salem is built upon. This directly implies that morality is highly valued in the society. In the beginning of the play, Arthur Miller draws a distinct line between John Proctor and Parris from their backgrounds and moral standards. Proctor is a married farmer who had an affair with a 17-year old house worker, Abigail. Parris is a minister of the church, and his reputation plays a very important role in maintaining his position as the leader of the congregation. While Miller portrays Proctor as an immoral man, he portrays Parris as a somewhat respected man in the city of Salem. But their moral standards eventually swoop through the witch trial that strikes the town. Throughout the story, Parris serves as a foil for Proctor by giving up his integrity for his reputation while Proctor gives up his life for goodness.…

Arthur miller developed this theme throughout the book by accumulating characters with this quality. Many people today have read Arthur Miller’s great play “The Crucible” and believe that the real witch trials were portrayed in the play but many of the facts are not particularly wrong but might be twisted. There are many proven facts that some of the story is not true to the real life events and this confuses many people because “Arthur Miller makes his characters so vivid and actually used the real names of the people that were in the trials”(Salem Witch Museum). It has been proven that Arthur changed the story on purpose to use it as an allegory for the anti-communist Red Scare to get across to the government of what they were actually doing. In the beginning of the play Arthur admits to altering the play for dramatic effect.…

Arthur Miller researched these trials and wrote “The Crucible.” Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” began with a group of girls, led by Abigail Williams, getting caught dancing naked in the forest, presumably performing witchcraft. The story began with the dancing of the girls in the forest. These girls were: Abigail Williams, Tituba, and Betty Parris. When the girls were seen they became scared and ran off. This is what led to the uprising in the town. Many people believed anything they heard or saw. They believed in an unconditional election in which God has no obligation to save anyone, no matter how little the problem is. The Puritans use this during the witch trials in which they hanged many people that were innocent of witchcraft. These hangings happened because everyone believed everything the girls said and showed. People in the crowd seemed awe struck by the girls and their ability to view people as witches or not. These hangings produced hysteria in the townspeople. In the story because of the dancing of the girls the priests of the town, Hale and Parris believed that the girls called the devil upon their town. Many people are accused of witch craft because of the girls.…
