Online dating is one of the most widely popular trends in the urban society nowadays. It has become one of the most convenient ways of meeting people and interacting with them. You can socialize with people across the globe, relaxing in the cozy environment of your house, with internet dating. However, very few people realize that there are a number of probable risks linked with this activity. The biggest threat is that since the identity of the person is anonymous, you will never be able to know his/her genuineness or any other ulterior motive that might be on his/her mind. For some more information on risks associated with online dating, read on. Manipulation of information is one of the most probable risks of online dating. Nonetheless, I don’t consider the online dating strategy to be an effective or good idea in the first place because there are too many problems and negative effects that can come from it more so than positive ones. I think people should be very careful. Meeting strangers face to face in social situations is good so long as you size them up, look at their body language and how they interact with others. See their friends as this will tell you a lot about them. Before considering them a romantic possibility it is better to get to know them first as friends and find out what they are really…

Internet dating is one of the most popular ways to meet the ideal person for a relationship. These websites are to help a person to get to know one another with the idea of meeting and possibly dating. Online Dating these days has become a social norm. When we are younger our parents teach us not to talk to strangers. So what is the difference now? Is it because we are now considered adults… Or because computers are more readily available? The way our parents grew up is completely different then how we did. Things such as people living together before marriage or having a child out of wedlock were taboo back then, now they are just about everywhere you look. So we have all heard of E-Harmony and Match.com but people also meet on Facebook and various other apps on smart phones like Let's Date and Me U Meet. What i know about online dating is you meet someone usually based off their looks, then i assume second their interests and third their personality. The reason i chose this subject to do my research on is my sister samantha she actually did the whole Eharmony thing and met a guy. I myself find this to be a scary thing meeting someone that you have only emailed and text messaging how on earth can anyone be ok with this. When people send pictures one must have to wonder if it really is the person you have been speaking to or did someone else just copy and paste some photos. The reason i believe most people are more at ease about meeting people online is because of the fear Chavez 2 of rejection. And lets face it most likely if you aren't the best looking person its a lot easier to meet people by using someone else's photo. By using someone else's photo you are delaying rejection, even though you are still most likely going to be rejected when you come clean. If not for the looks for the simple reason you have been lying to a person. There are many other risks one must consider before meeting a stranger, such as they could rape kidnap or even kill you.…

Now some cons about online dating are that there are lot of people that will use fake pictures and profile. For example; Manti Te’o, a professional footballer, was involved in an online dating hoax. He has never seen his ‘girlfriend’ before but they have talked on the phone. When he decided that he wanted to see his girlfriend, she made a ton of excuses not to see him. Later on in their relationship, she even lied that she was sick and dying because he didn’t want to be with her anymore. After a while, Manti found out that his ‘girlfriend’ didn’t exist.…
