Should gay marriage be legalized in America?

PRO GAY MARRIAGE
As stated in the Constitution of the United States of America, “All men are created equal”. However this is not the case in society today. How would you feel to not be able to marry the person you love? Unfortunately the marriage between two people of the same sex is not recognized by the law and society in most states. This is a very sensitive topic among families today. Especially in today’s society it is difficult to accept that someone is homosexual The fact that 41 states rule that gay marriage is illegal proves that gay marriage is a serious matter currently. Some people claim that marriage is only defined by a man marrying a woman, but that is only perspective. Gay marriage should be legalized because not recognizing gay marriage like recognizing marriage between a heterosexual couple is discrimination and unconstitutional. Additionally, gay marriage would allow for hospital visitation rights during an illness and family health coverage for gays. Lastly, legalizing gay marriage would improve financial situations, both on personal and governing levels. Men and women of the United States, no matter what their sexual intrests are, should be treated equally.
To begin, gay marriage should be legalized because denying homosexuals the right to be married is a discrimination against a group of people and therefore unconstitutional. Homosexual couples are simply being treated differently due to the fact that they are interested in a different sex than heterosexual couples. Just like how black people were discriminated against during the Civil Rights Movement, gay people are commonly discriminated by people just for being “different” from what the current society commonly accepts. This is wrong by all means. Homosexual people are made inferior to heterosexuals in that they are unable to
