Throughout the series you see several different types of romances. For example, Tris's best friend, Christina, falls in love with a boy named Will. This relationship is a lot like a crush or puppy love. Whereas Tris has a much deeper relationship with her instructor Tobias. They both rely on each other to keep going through difficult times. Throughout
the series Tris and Tobias's relationship continues to grow. They go through many different struggles together, and they get through them only because they work together.
In the Divergent series there is lots of action. Tris picks to live in the faction Dauntless. The faction Dauntless believes in bravery, so in a lot of the book there is fighting and conflict. Throughout the book there is also a lot of hurting and loss because of all the fighting. I think this brings a different kind of action in the mist of all the fighting. Also the action in this series is not meaningless. Tris and her friends believe in the causes they are fighting for.
I especially love books that let you really think about them after you read them. The Divergent series really sticks in your mind because it has so many relevant lessons for you to think over. The factions themselves teach a lot of lessons for you to think about. For example, the Dauntless faction believes in bravery, but they often end up killing themselves because they are being careless. This may be a bit of an extreme example, but I think it shows you should be brave, but also wise.
I read the Divergent series in just a couple of weeks. I could not put the books down. I would highly recommend these books to anyone. Whether you're a guy or a girl I think you'll find this series extremely interesting. And this series has an extra bonus: if your parents of teachers want to know why you like these books so much, you can just say, "It has so many great life lessons!". If you're looking for a good book to read, the Divergent series is the way to go, because it has romance, action, and life lessons.
