In the Dred Scott case the issue of freedom amongst slaves was first highlight in this nations court system. It can be argued that though Dred Scott was not successful in his attempt towards freedom, his case was a victory for the slave population. This is because the case examined whether African American should be viewed as citizens. Without this case there would be no example of slaveries inequality in the eyes of the legal system.
The of Plessy v. Ferguson argued the how constitutional Jim Crow laws were in the South. It highlight the
nonrealistic thought of separate but equal. Ultimately the case lead to the disbandment of Jim Crow. Without this case, pivotal steps to improve civil rights could not have been made. It also is the first representation that no matter what an individuals ethnicity may be, they deserve equal treatment.
Much like the other, Brown v. Board of Education was groundbreaking in its own respect. This case showed the importance of equal education. It also marks the integration of schools throughout the nation. Integration led to much of what this nation has become in the current day. Without this case, generations of young American would not receive the education they need and many social divides would still stand.
Personally from these three cases I learned the timeline of civil rights cases in America. What shocked me most was the decision made in the Dred Scott case. I think that case alone showed the moral injustice that slavery was in this country.
