He uses pathos appeals. At the beginning, he created an emotional feeling. The author showed the reader that Dasmine freshman year he was committed to do his work. The author informs us by stating his grades, and how he use to read books every night. He stated that after practice Dasmine will read ten books while his friends laugh and play. Then the author said the following year his life started to unravel. Dasmine found out he was about to be a father of two. His mom moved out of town and his father lived in Mississippi. The author added to the pathos by informing the reader that he had to take care his family and others. Stating, “Dasmine looks after far more people than that.” The article said that Dasmine had to rise up before five to take siblings in friends around before he goes to class. It is hard to fulfill dreams when a person has a lot of responsibility.
