Sugar in all its forms is officially a simple carbohydrate. This means the body will convert is into glucose which is then available as energy. Then it gets less simple. Depending on the type of sugar used our health will be impacted rather differently, sometimes bad, sometimes very bad depending on using either natural or refined types of sugar.
Whereas the usual over use of any sugar is likely to add fat and body weight and also play havoc with blood sugar levels, there now is growing evidence that repeated exposure to sugar overdosing could possibly lead on to carcinogenic problems. Much further exploration is needed into the different ways sugars work but first of all we should arm ourselves as individuals with the basic knowledge about sugars so we understand what we are doing to our own bodies.

This will lead to a general wanting of more sweet foods as part of the normal diet which is obviously a slippery slope to get started on.
Taste buds get used to new flavours and going back to the old suddenly feels too strange to do. This is not good. Artificial sweeteners therefore, prolong the problem of reducing your sweet tooth and act as an unhealthy substitute instead of being the answer to calorie loss that people believe.
The simplest solution would be to cut back on needing sweet foods in the first place. A gradual reduction across the board should get your body falling out of love with sugar and beginning a new life without sweeteners, and then reduce sugars until you’re down to fruit and lactose which is desirable. This could be the secret to artificial sweeteners, just don’t use them. Most things with artificial in their names sounds questionable in the first place.
