Believe it or not there were some positive impacts while we were at war. Before the United States got involved our economy was a disaster. America was in a depression and then the war came along and it made our economy skyrocket. It put us on top again. Many jobs were available and women who didn’t have jobs before now had jobs in factories making ships, planes and many other war supplies. Children also had jobs working to make scrap metal, grease drives and rubber drives, anything to help the war. During Pearl Harbor there was a war called the Pacific war. Also known as the Asia-Pacific War. Japan, Thailand and Japanese puppet countries were the axis powers, and the United States Britain, Australia and other Allied countries were the Allied powers. This war began the day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, December 8th 1941. There were many battles in the Pacific War but one of the most famous ones was The Battle of, the Coral Sea. The battle lasted 4 days. From may 4th to May 8th. The battle was fought all by air craft. None of the ships in the battle fired at the enemy ship. The battle of The Coral Sea was the first combat between the Japanese and American aircraft carriers in World War II. Although both sides suffered damages to their carriers, the battle left the Japanese without enough planes to cover the ground attack of Port Moresby, resulting in a strategic Allied victory. The turning point in the pacific theater was in The Battle of Midway. On June 3rd the Japanese attacked the Aleutian Island, they bombed them to go the attention away from their main target- Atoll Midway. America secretly broke the Japanese naval code and knew exactly what they were planning. On June 4th, after 3days of fighting the enemy was forced to give up and to invade midway. The U.S, exposed a serious blow to the Japanese naval and air power. The imperial forces lost all 4 carriers and about 250 air
