Before the Lift
Before the lift, the military junta strictly limited the rule on importing carsii. Only people from the military, concerned with politics or have ties with the military junta, could import cars. And most of them would sell the cars with high profitsiiiiv. During that period lots of people were buying cars in hope of someday that they would get profit from resellingv. During that time, the cars were not shiny BENZs or the dazzling Beemers, but they were two to three decade old Japanese car that were mere scrap.
