The Essential Drucker Analysis
Know your strengths and values, and know your time. I really enjoy myself reading these two chapters from The Essential Drucker. The discussed topics have opened my mind and made me re-evaluate myself, my lifestyle and my workstyle. It is very crucial to know the best way to manage ourselves in order to make the greatest contribution and live life to the fullest. Firstly, we now have choices. It is not like the situation that we had a few decades ago, where people only knew their strengths based on what their family had been doing. It is very convenient nowadays because someone’s socio-economics status does not depends on their parents’. You do not have to be a lawyer if one of your parents is one. The writer said “there is no substitute for time. The supply of time is totally inelastic. Time is totally perishable and cannot be stored. Yesterday’s time is gone forever and will never come back”. Thus, time management is very important and one should use time as best as oneself can. Every successful man has his own time management. Based on the article entitled Time Management Tips from President Barack Obama, his tips are: carve out personal time, stick to a routine and conserve your willpower [3]. I need to improve my time management as a college student and get ready to prepare myself before entering a career. There would be much more work to do and that is where I have to know my priorities to get all things done on time without ignoring myself, friends and family . I have to know my time demands and cut time-use on unproductive and wasteful matters. I will keep track my time because everything requires …show more content…
The I (Influence) score spikes up the most when the external profile graph is compared to internal profile’s. I score 90% for Influence in external profile graph. It describes me as persuasive, talkative, gregarious, trusting, poised, optimistic, expressive, generous, inspirational, confident, enthusiastic, interactive and people oriented. Influence people seeks for attention and status, fears of rejection and isolation and motivated by recognition and social acceptance. I would say this description is 100% agreeable. I like DISC personality better compared to Myers Brigg because DISC able to describes the negativity of having other low characteristics which Myers Brigg does not.For example, Richard Branson is an example of a great leader with strong I characteristic [4]. Leaders with an I personality are extroverts that bring people together using their charm, charisma, and enthusiasm. They are the kind of leaders that people love to be around because of their magnetic personalities. I style leaders are great at communication and enjoy an interactive environment, making them masters of creating strong and cohesive teams.I style leaders have boundless energy, genuinely enjoy the company of others, and are able to naturally motivate and inspire the people around them. They are likeable, easy to talk to, and are often able to diffuse conflict using their sharp sense of humor. They are also extremely persuasive, and their natural

The DiSC profile system is a specialized profile assessment system. It is designed to provide takers with a clue into which personality category they fall. Each characteristic is carefully laid out to determine which profile best suits you. In brief, the profile consists of four categories that include dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. Each profile consists of a description of various tendencies, the preferred environment where they feel most comfortable, the type of people they need to be associated with, and lastly, what is needed to be more effective. Someone in the dominance profile would emphasize controlling the environment to accomplish goals, and they are more apt to overcome opposition. An influential type tends to try persuading others. According to Peter Drucker’s, what is "business ethics"? Published in The Public Interest, he noted and addressed the moralist by stating. “To the moralist of the Western tradition "business ethics" would make no sense. Indeed, the very term would to him be most objectionable, and reeking of moral laxity. The authorities on ethics disagreed, of course, on what constitutes the grounds of morality--whether they are divine, human nature, or the needs of society”(Drucker, 1981 Spring). Time management is a lifesaver for college students. Today with full course loads, part time jobs and numerous other commitments students often find themselves with little time for studying and recreation. Students who choose to plan his or her day by properly managing time will benefit greatly. One of the many steps to make time management effective is to develop a time strategy. If a student has scheduled to many classes to take in one semester then the workload can be overwhelming. Next a student should reasonably estimate the time required to perform each of the tasks at hand. If A student does not find out how long each tacks is going to take then he or she will be running behind in time and will not be able to perform all the tacks that are require for that day. And finally he or she needs to actually do what needs to be done. If a student is not a head of schedule, then he or she is behind schedule. Because if he or she tries to remain right on schedule, then any mishap or misjudgment will cause he or she to fall behind. For example when a student has a deadline and he or she does not have a printer at home and the printer in the library is broken, no recovery time is possible. Therefore the skills that must be learned are the lifesaving skills of time management Time management are skills that a student or anyone will carry with him or she throughout…
