Q.1 What should Anton Danoise do about Ana’s request? Why? Support your decision with examples and implications.
Ans: Anton is in a rather unsettling position. On one hand he has the pressure of his boss not to take any employees’ special requests into consideration and on the other he has the request of a very capable employee. Anton should take Ana’s request for a raise in salary into consideration. This is because Ana is financially restrained, there is a lack of job opportunities for her husband in Belgium and she has to pay for her 2 sons’ tution fees at an International school. Hence, the raise in salary seems like the only positive motivation to keep Ana because the company requires her expertise for expanding over Eastern Europe and Russia. If he does not provide her with the raise, there is a danger of losing her to a competitive company. Ana clearly mentioned that she has been in touch with her old boss in Brazil who wants her back at the plant and this option or incentive is the only reason which would help her continue her Expat life in Belgium and support her family of 4.

Q. 2 Should there be a different set of rules for each expat? Support your choice with examples and clear reason.

Also, the productivity and usefulness of each expat majorly depends on how content they are in their personal life. In order to achieve maximum out and best efficiency, the company should treat every situation differently and take a decision on the basis of the productivity the expat brings in the organization.
For example, in the case of Sergio Gamelli, he was supposed to be transferred to China for an assignment, that Anton believed could be

A multinational corporation (MNC) is a firm that is based in one country and produces goods or provides services in one or more foreign countries. HR policies for a MNC differ from those of a company operating in just one country for numerous reasons. The MNC must take into account language, culture, ethics, gestures, laws, regulations, customs, economy, and politics of not just the home country but the host country as well. For example, Coke sells their product all over the world. They must change their marketing to accommodate the Chinese. The language must be changed, and even the recipe must be altered. The HR policies must follow the different rules, regulations, and cultures of the different countries they are doing business in.…

I would take in consideration that this overseas assignment will be undesired by probably most workers of the company. However, this will have a negative outcome on who will get picked but it has to be done in favor for the company’s reputation. I will personally look at each individual case to sort out who does have a family with children and who doesn’t. The ones who do not have children and or wives/ husbands I will prefer because they got less to scarify but their work performance have to be satisfactory. I also will look for positive work attitude and ability to lead and if he or she understands the work they will have to perform and represents the policy of our company at best. I will treat everyone the same in this decision making process but I need to make a decision fits the company and not the individual at best. I will choose a worker that has the potential to be a manager and is a strong leader and well accepted in the group, who has to go to represent the company professionally and in a positive attitude. I will communicate and make a decision with him who he would like to take with him and match it with my ideas of who I think the company will need here at the home base. After the decision is made I will approach these individuals and tell them that they have been chosen for this assignment and that the company is relying on them to perform at their best. I will tell them why they need to go and that this is in best interest of the company. They will accept it if likeable or not.…
