1. Top ten of extinct animals More than 99% of all species that have ever lived on Earth are now extinct. The vast majority (over 95%) died out. Today is Endangered Species Day. Check out some of the beautiful creatures that the planet has lost.

VII. The Saber-toothed Tiger (Smilodon): He's been gone from the Earth for over 10,000 years now.

IX. The Quagga: Native to South Africa, the original quagga was hunted to extinction for its meat and hide. The last one died in an Amsterdam zoo in 1883.
X. Steller's Sea Cow: The sea cows were rapidly hunted for food, skins (used to make boats) and oil (for lamps), and by 1768, less than 30 years after Steller found them, the Steller's sea cow was extinct.
2. Causes of animals extinction. Is known that some species of animals are extinct but also more and more species are on the verge of extinction, but why? There are two causes that promote it, the natural and human causes.
