Boston Globe was a newspaper company that published a variety of articles and “Spotlight” had there own column within the newspaper and consisted of an investigative team of four people, Walter aka Robby Robinson (lead editor of the column), Mike Rezendes, Sacha Pfeiffer, and Matt Carroll. Themes of manipulation and deception can be considered one of Billy Wilder’s trademarks because they appear in many of his films. Whether the story involves men dressing up as women in Some Like It Hot, a struggling musician hiring a loose woman to act as his wife to impress a celebrity in Kiss Me Stupid, or a man deceiving a courtroom to be acquitted of murder in Witness for the Prosecution, Wilder utilizes themes of deception and manipulation to keep the stories interesting.
